World Café - An introduction to different cultures

23
Feb

Each semester at the University of Southern California, there is an event called “The World Café” for international students from all around the globe to meet each other, socialize and get familiarized with the culture of different countries.
As a major and one of the oldest student organizations of the university, IGSA, took part in both events in the fall and spring semesters to take the opportunity of knowing other cultures, languages, people, way of life and cuisine of the different nations.
At the first event, the introduction of Iranian culture started with a review of the sights of historic places of the beloved homeland, natural beauties of the country and introduction of different ethnics and people of Iran. It was followed by a very friendly and educationally session of questions and answers ranging from culture to history, from society to geopolitics and from family life to international relations.
This was really praised by OIS and the research assistants who were working on the global issues and international relations leading to a seminar later on about the “Real Iran” as part of continuous “State of the world” seminars.
The other event was held in the spring semester focused on the different languages. It was a chance for students from all around the world to gather and practice the common use of the languages in different languages and cultures.

Tochal is the world's fifth highest ski resort at over 3730m at its highest 7th station.
