In order to provide a better introduction and practice of traditional, folklore and modern     Persian music at the University of Southern California, Iranian Graduate Students Association has initiated a group based on the help and kind cooperation of interested folks to share, practice and enjoy the music events in friendly gatherings and events.
Persian Music Group, has started its interesting journey at USC by dedication, persistence and devotion of the folks who love to get together and enjoy listening to the performances as well as creating an educational environment to learn and improve music skills.
To reach this, there have been two music nights of amazing performances of piano, guitar, harmonica, violin, accordion, flute, vocals as well as rich and magnificent performances of traditional Persian instruments of Taar, Se-taar, Daf, Tonbak, Santour, Ney, etc.
 
The first music night was at TSC building while the second was held at SGM auditorium at which many interested folks participated in.  
The goal of the group is introducing rich Iranian traditional, folklore and modern music and beautiful songs to USC Iranian and international society, however it gave the impression of the unity of the eastern and western cultures that in the language of the music, where the pure hearts of the humans talk, eastern folk songs can be heard or even can be played using western instruments in one beautiful music night and be praised by the audience.
